Acupuncture is defined as the penetration of acupuncture points on the skin by thin, metallic, sterile and single-use needles stimulated by manual manipulation, or electrical stimulation. Insertion of Acupuncture needles causes minimal or no pain. Acupuncture is safe and relieves both acute and chronic symptoms.

Acupuncture points are areas with designated electrical sensitivity that have been shown to be effective in treating specific health dysfunctions. Acupuncture treatment can help speed up your recovery time and have you back at your best a lot faster.

Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is a sub-set of complementary medicine and is a holistic system of health and healing, based on the principle of harmony and balance that refers to the mind and the human body as an interrelated whole with nature. Traditional Chinese medicine treats the person as a whole, and not only the symptom or disease.

According to traditional Chinese medicine, Qi (vital energy) flows through the body via channels – meridians – that connect to our major organs.  Illness arises when this flow of Qi is altered or blocked.

We can balance the Qi using acupuncture and nutrition. Moxibustion, cupping, ear acupuncture, and infrared heat lamp are also used in traditional Chinese medicine and in my clinic, as needed.

Once the Chinese medical diagnosis is made, based upon a thorough examination and consultation which includes the assessment of the Pulse and Tongue then the most appropriate acupuncture points and treatment can be chosen for the patient.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, (TCM), two patients can suffer from the same dis-ease and most likely that they will not get the same treatment because we treat the whole person's situation and not only the disharmony itself.

Acupuncture is known to stimulate the nervous system, block pain receptors, produce Endorphins and promote Blood Circulation.
